Roger Sabà Riera
Audiovisual communication and research on ableism and the media
Chapter the first, in which Roger tells who he is and why he tells stories
For twenty years I have been telling stories. First with a camera: about migrants, workers fighting for their rights, prisons, Palestine, the people of Tindila and the Diallo family. When I acquired a disability, I experienced a kind of discrimination that the media hardly ever talk about, ableism, and I turned the camera on them. Now I research it at the UAB and train professionals and organisations so that this story is told differently.
