Chapter 4

About me

Where I come from, where I live and my passion for water.

I started working in communication in 2005: I designed websites and taught people how to use design software. In 2008 I moved into audiovisual work, and in 2014 I co-founded Metromuster, a cooperative that made documentaries and campaigns for political advocacy.

When I acquired a disability, I saw up close the discrimination that people with disabilities face and how the media reproduce it. I did the Master’s in Media, Communication and Culture at the UAB, and my Master’s thesis on ableism won second prize in the Catalan Audiovisual Council’s research awards (CAC). I am now doing an industrial doctorate at the UAB, with Fundación ONCE, on the representation of people with disabilities in public service media.

Outside work, I live in Empriu, a housing cooperative where we are exploring ways of living together, and I compete in swimming with Fundación Adapta2.
